Happy New Year!

The holiday season is officially over, no more turkey, no more presents, no more champagne. I must say it's been pretty exhausting, as much as love Christmas and Thanksgiving I'm kind of relived that they are only once a year. Why? I don't have a clue, I guess preparing a great thing is stressful, especially if your Zodiac sign is Virgo like mine, we just can't understand that perfection is not an obligation.
Since yesterday I've been reading my horoscope and I don't really understand anything they say, but it doesn't matter, from now on I'm trying to have a more unpredictable life, if you don't what's going to come it's got to be more fun, who doesn't love a surprise? I didn't like the year 2009, it was really difficult for me, it came with so many tough changes and strange decisions to accept, that's why I want to embrace this new year, 2010 baby!
Anyway, like other mortals I've made my New Year's resolution list, it might seem a little bit superficial, but trust me, that's what I'm trying to avoid to do.
1) Say more frequently "Why the hell not?".
2) Do some exercise to avoid failing my bikini test and to get a better night's rest.
3) Eat healthier, it's another way to say "I want to loose 10 pounds".
4) Say goodbye to unstable friendships and find new ones.
5) Stay away from H&M, I've been shopping way to many times in those amazing stores. (I find this resolution really difficult, impossible I must say.)
6) Start to rock a more natural look, especially my makeup style, liquid eyeliner isn't always necessary.
7) Be more open to love, men that is, I have to give a chance to guys I would never consider an interest in 2009.
8) Commit to something, like my blog for example.
9) Take out for walk once in a while my inner "She Wolf".
10) Live my life without caring what people say or want, don't get me wrong, I'm not a rebel, just want to be a free spirit.

That's it is people! Here are some pictures and sets that I took and made during this great holiday season.

The Shrunken Sweater

Lately I've been so busy that I didn't realize that I put my favorite light gray v-neck cable knit sweater in the laundry basket, of course, my mother washed it. You can imagine the result, it became so small that it doesn't fit my nine-year-old sister, she isn't petite, but it's kind of depressing. I tried to stretch it a little, but it's still very, very small. So, I realized, that I couldn't fix everything in life, not even if I like it that much, not even if it was my favorite.
Of course, I'll save some money a buy a new one, I saw it at the store today, maybe I'll be another color, but that's not the problem at all.
I had a strange reality check when I gave up on fixing it, I also gave up on fixing important things, things in life so important but can't no longer be fix, when something's broken, believe me, it's broken. Even if you stretch, use the super glue or make an extra effort for a special friendship and get no results, well, that's the end. I know, it's kind of dumb writing this, but sometimes we need to hear "you can't fix it". It's important to understand that sometimes we do have to let go.
People are already thinking about 2010, but I just finish right this year. To be completely honest it has been most definitely exhausting, but it's not going to stop me from closing unsolved issues before the clock strikes midnight.

I'll blog about my new years resolutions later!

Polyvore

This website is one of my favorite hobbies on earth, literally. Not only you can create great outfits, but your graphic side kicks in too. Any fashion or art lover will be come addicted, trust me, for those rainy fall days you can find something to do! You can mix music and fashion and make a great set. So, what are you waiting for? Create an account now. You'll fall in love with Polyvore.
You will find all your favorite brands and stores, you can also search for those songs that inspired you to make the set, you can find awesome pics of your favorite celebs, and why not add them in your piece of art?
The site members are really nice, they fave your sets all the time, comment them and before you know it, your new friend is a Vogue intern. That's better than watching a boring reality show.
Trust me, once you start you'll never stop! Unfortunately I had to, school is my biggest priority right now, so if you want to see my new sets you'll have to wait a bit.

Europe Music Awards 2009

I know that the VMAs are great, but for some reason I think that the EMAs are more fun, everybody looks so relaxed. I loved all the performances and most of the winners (of course I voted). I wished Lady Gaga would have enjoyed the creative freedom of Europe and done something great, but she didn't make it to the show. Jay-Z proved again to everyone that he's a living legend, U2 amaze me because they're still going strong after all these years and fame, Shakira was sexy and her "She Wolf" came out to play on the stage, and Beyonce? Oh, Beyonce! What a breath taking woman, I think her performance was kind of short, but it was still amazing. She also proved that she has charisma by saying in her winning speech (Best Video-Single Ladies): "Okay, there’s only one person I wanna thank… And that is Jay for putting a ring on it". It was a great show, I loved the whole "Katy Kat Club" idea, it was very creative and Miss Perry was a great host too.

"Beyonce" is the only word I can use to describe this video.

Introduction

Hey boys and girls! Okay, I hate to introduce myself, I never know what to say. My name is Maria Jose, but everybody calls me Majo (pronounce it with your best french accent please!). I'm just a sixteen-year-old living in Switzerland and like many teenagers I love fashion, music, photography and all that stuff. I will do my best to make this blog look like a scrapbook by posting all my ideas, likes and dislikes. If I ever make a spelling or grammar mistake, I apologize, I have too many languages in my head.
